The bulk of this army are 15mm GLADIATOR figures, I saw a beautiful Gladiator DBA Crusader army at a show in the mid 1990's and bought it, then bought another one to make it a double army. I have since added a few Essex figures, but have to admit the Gladiator figures are better for this period IMHO. This was at the time the most colourful army I had painted, and lead to me buying a Seljuk Turkish army to fight it, also Gladiator, and now incorporated into my Ottoman army.

As of Early 2001 I have yet to use this army with Armati, so it remains a DBA/DBM army, though I am sure before the year is out I shall have gotten around to it.......

CRUSADER ARMY (Early or Late) - Approx 1100AD

My mighty Gladiator Crusaders Painted late 1990's, photo May 2001 with Fuji Reala, excellent film for closeups. Not bad for 15mm figures are they?

Another close up with the Fuji Reala film, this time of the supporting 15mm Gladiator spearmen

Gladiator Crossbowmen, the prettiest army I had painted, in the mid 1990's (Photo Cannon EOS lens unsure? 200ASA)

Supporting Crusader spearmen, Gladiator miniatrures

Gladiator knights, great figures and with all that horse barding beautiful to paint, highly recommended

Look out heathens, the Christians are coming!
